On Monday was our first family meeting at Lyndhurst. I was a little concerned. I didn’t want anyone to tell Nicolas, based on your level of injury “You are this”…I don’t believe in “You are this”. I should have known better…they where amazing as always.
Overview of the last couple of weeks, what the next steps will be, questions and answers and departure date. So we are here for 4 months…minimum. Depending if Nic is still progressing (making new things happen or work) he will be staying longer.
Ok…we know where he will be…where will I be? Where do I live in the next 6 months? So many things go through your head, and the plans that I thought would be good for our family is always changing ,so why make plans unless you have a decision to make? That was EASY!
Tuesday was a really big day for us. I came back from looking at a place to stay, and went to find Nic in physio. His therapist Trish, said “should we show her?” and Nics responce is “well she will just make it a really big deal, she always makes it a big deal!”
Well, she took off his shoe, and he wiggled his toes. Trying not to make it a big deal, I held back my tears (almost) and thanked God again. He wiggled his toes. Could life be better? Makes me remember all the stupid stuff that really never mattered in my life. This is the stuff that matters.
Until next time!
That is a big deal —– for Nicolas to move his toes. Whaooooooo. I think it is ” great ” .
There is no end to what he can accomplish. He is young and vibrant, and I am sure that the words
“I Can’t ” are never on his mind.
I will bet you that one year from now, he will be accomplishing so many wonderful things.
Everyone will be amazed.
